My Favourite Natural, Organic and Cruelty-Free Beauty Products

A few years ago, I decided to commit to revamping my mindset, home and heart with more consciousness of how I can make a positive impact on this beautiful planet of ours. A part of this commitment was to make more ethical, clean and safe beauty choices. Being just one single person, I often feel my contribution is too little to make any difference. However, small changes, such as switching out a few products from your routine for natural ones, and encouraging others to do the same, can make a massive impact in the long-term. The problem I had when incorporating more natural beauty products into my routine was that they rarely delivered the result I was looking for. Turns out, it's extremely difficult to find natural products that are both safe and effective.  After almost two years of searching and testing, I've found a handful of remarkable products that not only make your skin and hair look and feel happy, but make the Earth and animals happy too!
Lovely Day Botanicals Mellow Mallow Cleansing Gel
This product is the gentlest of all gentle cleansers. It doesn't strip skin of natural oils, you don't get that tight feeling after washing or an oily film, and your skin feels so clean and supple afterwards. After using this for about a week, I found that my skin doesn't get oily throughout the day anymore. It contains PHA fruit acids for gentle exfoliation, aloe vera gel to hydrate and soothe sensitive skin and various botanical oils that moisturise and add a layer of protection. I also love the Skin Rescue oil which contains blue tansy and primrose oil. These oils are saviours for problem skin. They have anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, non-irritating and soothing properties. I love whipping it out when I have hormonal breakouts or my skin is feeling very red and dry from the winter cold.
Ruhua Voluminous Shampoo & Conditioner
The problem with most volume shampoos is they strip all the oil out of your hair and scalp in order to prevent your hair from being weighed down. This makes it feel light and bouncing, but can sometimes leave it feeling dry and brittle too. Rahua's Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner work so well at adding lustre and lightness to your hair while leaving it hydrated and flexible. The products are pricey, however, they go a really long way. A bottle could easily last me over six months.
The Innate Life Rose Hair Elixir
The Innate Life is a relatively young company run by a team of ladies who are passionate about holistic living and bring this philosophy to the beauty industry. Each product is completely natural and highly potent! Out of all the products I've tried, can't get enough of Rose Hair Elixir the most. It's one of the most effective natural hair oils I've tried. I only use a few drops and it tames my frizz and effectively adds and seals in hydration to my ends.
Gloss Moderne Clean Luxury Masque
I always appreciate brands with minimalistic and aesthetic packaged products that I can leave on my bathroom counter for easy reach, rather than having to hide them away in the cupboard. Gloss Moderne is one of those brands. Their products are also completely sulphate-free, paraben-free and vegan. The Clean Luxury Masque is a dream. It smells strongly of coconut which lingers in your hair for days after washing. Your hair is intensely hydrated after using thism and yes, it does deliver on their "Gloss" description!
MŪN AKNARI Brightening Youth Serum
One of my most cherished products is the AKNARI Brightening Youth Serum which contains rose oil and prickly pear oil. It absorbs into my skin almost instantly, so you can put on makeup right on top of it. After a few minutes of application, you'll have a natural glow to your complexion that makes you look healthy. It doubles as an eye serum and helps reduce fine lines and keeps the area very hydrated. When using it at night, I wake up to the most radiant glow in the morning. They also have an excellent rosewater toner. It hydrates and gently exfoliates. I often spray it on my face during the day for some added hydration too.
InLight Body Oil with Arnica
I've always preferred body lotion over body oils due to their less greasy finishes. However, the InLight Body Oil has completely changed my mind. This product is a calming complex of plants and astringent herb extracts to relax, rejuvenate and promote suppleness and elasticity in your skin. I apply this after the shower and it absorbs instantly. It leaves my skin feeling silky, silky smooth. So silky you can't help but rub your legs and arms against each other because it feels soo damn satisfying. No greasy finish whatsoever, too! You don't need to apply this after every shower as the hydration lasts for at least a week!
How I Discover and Purchase My Organic Skincare Products

I discover new clean beauty products from a handful of blogs such as Organic Beauty Blogger and Living Pretty Naturally. Both blogs contain an abundance of information on organic beauty products and tips on living a toxic-free and healthy life. Some companies also send me products to try, for example, The Innate Life, who I worked with earlier this year. Of course, I only promote products I've tested and truly believe in. I also discover great clean beauty products from online organic beauty retailers. If you're in Europe, I can highly recommend Biosplendor. They ship across Europe and have curated only the most high-quality natural beauty brands and products. Every product they carry doesn't contain any mineral oils, parabens, toxic chemicals and PEGs. They are also are strict on offering only cruelty-free products as well. For this reason, Biosplendor is an excellent website for finding the best of the best in clean beauty. Are you a fan of clean beauty? If so, what are your favourite products? I would love to know in the comments!
